All Hallow's Beef: Jack-O-Lantern Burgers 🎃
Try this spooky good boo-ger for your Halloween crew!
🎃Honest Beef Jack-O-Lantern Burgers🎃
Use a thicker cheddar cheese for your jack-o-lanterns. Do not use the soft American 'singles' cheese - we tried and they FAILED.
Put cheese on your burgers for the last 2 minutes of cooking.
Spooky good!
Makes 15 burgers or 20+ sliders!
You will need:
5lbs Honest Beef Dry-Aged, Single-Animal Ground Beef
15-25 cheddar cheese slices - we used a thicker sharp cheddar because it was easy to cut and held its shape. Do not use the soft American cheese that come as singles. They are too soft to cut. We tried it and failed.

Directions:
- Using a small, sharp knife, cut jack-o-lantern faces into each cheese slice, just as you would on a pumpkin.
- Heat grill to 450°F or higher, or your stovetop cast iron to high.
- Cook burgers to desired doneness, adding your jack-o-lantern cheese slices 2 minutes before you plan on taking them off the grill.
Depending on thickness of burgers/sliders, here are estimated cooking times for desired doneness on a high/hot grill:
- Medium Rare: Cook burger on one side three minutes. Turn it over and cook for an additional four minutes.
- Medium: Cook burger on one side for three minutes. Turn it over and cook for an additional five minutes.
- Medium Well: Cook burger on one side for three minutes. Turn it over and cook for an additional six minutes.
- Well Done: Cook burger on one side for three minutes. Turn it over and cook for an additional seven minutes.
